BLOOMINGTON — The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that pavement patching will begin Monday, June 11 on Interstate 74 from Carlock to northwest of Bloomington, on I-55 from the McLean/Logan County line to southwest of Bloomington and on I-55 northeast of Bloomington to Lexington.
The patching will require lane closures, but at least one lane will remain open in each direction during the project, which is expected to be completed by the end of June, weather permitting.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
