- Absolutely no information can be given over the telephone
regarding Vital Records.

| Marriage Records are available from 1831 |
| If you have an urgent need for a vital record, the State Department
of Vital Records can honor a telephone request (1-217-782-6553) and have
the document overnighted to you. The fee for using a credit card is $6.00
and to have the request sent UPS (charged to your credit card) is $13.00.
The fees for the actual records vary. ALL FEES SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANY
TIME. |
| Under Illinois State Law (410 ILCS 535-Vital Records Act) only specific
individuals have legal access to birth, death, or marriage certificates.
The McLean County Clerk's Office will issue certificates to authorized
individuals only. To do otherwise is a violation of Illinois Law. Vital
Records are not considered public information, nor are they subject to
the Freedom of Information Act. |

To obtain a certified copy of a Marriage Application:
- Only the Bride or Groom may obtain a certified copy of
a Marriage Application.
Requests made in the office require a valid Driver’s license,
State issued ID, or a Passport
(Authorized English translation must accompany identification that is not U.S.
issued).
Requests made by mail require a photo copy of a signature ID.

To obtain a certified copy of a Marriage License:
- Anyone is allowed to request a certified copy of a Marriage
License.
Requests made in the office require a valid Driver’s license,
State issued ID, or a Passport
(Authorized English translation must accompany identification that is not U.S.
issued).
Requests made by mail require a photo copy of a signature ID.
(The extension of the expiration date must be copied if applicable)

Click on the type of vital record you are requesting

Complete the required information on the screens
that follow. You will receive a confirmation number once the transaction
is successful. |

Print the confirmation page. |
| Step 5: |
Place your photo identification
(i.e. Driver's License or State-issued ID card) which displays
your signature (The extension of the expiration date must be copied if applicable)
on the confirmation page or any piece of paper
with the confirmation number and make a photocopy, then sign,
date, and fax to the Mclean County Clerk at (309) 888-5932 or
scan and email the form to coclerkepay@mcleancountyil.gov.

| Note |
- There is a convenience fee of $ 1.75 for each transaction. This
fee is not charged by the McLean County Clerk.
- If your follow-up confirmation is received after 2:30 P.M.,
your request will be processed and mailed the following business
day.
