This program addresses developing and maintaining relationships that are respectful and violence free. ITR’s treatment is based upon the premise that individuals must assume personal responsibility for controlling and eliminating their violent actions, as well as accepting responsibility for the consequences of their behavior. ITR has the safety of victims as its highest priority. This program services both men and women.

AVERT addresses problems ranging from verbal to physical abuse and encourages self-awareness to make positive changes. The counseling focuses on: education about domestic violence; communication skills; self-esteem; anger identification and management; values clarification; assertiveness skill building; and building empathy skills. This program is for adult men and women accused of abusive behavior.

The goal of this program is to break the cycle of abuse. Treatment focuses on developing the skills necessary to understand oneself and improve the quality of one’s relationships. Our premise is a three-tier model of Understanding (acquiring the knowledge); Acceptance/Recognition (of the problems and desire to change); and Application (ability to apply the knowledge and make the changes).

This program offers intervention/treatment alternative for Latino batterers. It provides counseling for Hispanic offenders who due to a language barrier cannot attend the other available resources listed above. This program bases its treatment/intervention on premises similar to the other available providers in McLean County including anger management, domestic violence education and skill building.
