Juvenile Court Officer

The following position is available at McLean County Court Services located in the Law and Justice Center, 104 West Front Street, Bloomington, Illinois. This position is open to current County employees and to the general public.
This is a 37.5 hour work week, non-supervisory position classified as a grade 8 with an annual starting salary of $34,968. Normal work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with various evening, weekend and holiday work necessary.
Under the immediate supervision of Juvenile Court Services Deputy Director this position requires an applicant to be an LCSW or LCPC in order to conduct mental health assessments for high risk youth involved in the Juvenile Court System in McLean County. In addition, this position is a member of the Redeploy McLean County Team, the Extended Day Program Team and will work closely with other juvenile probation staff in assessing the risk and needs of high risk youth.
Expectations of the JCO Community Liaison/Assessment Officer include but are not limited to:
• Assess/diagnose clients referred for crisis management
• Realistic case planning for crisis youth and family
• Conduct evidence based programming in the Extended Day Program (EDP)
• Conduct evidence based Community Service Employment with referred youth
Considerable knowledge of juvenile court proceedings and knowledge of issues related to juvenile delinquency are desired. The successful applicant must receive verification of eligibility through the Administrative Office of Illinois Courts.
