At Your McLean County Parks

The McLean County Department Parks and Recreation is consistently working to improve our County's Parks to meet the needs and desires of the residents of McLean County. The Department 's Maintenance Division strives to complete projects in-house whenever possible, to reduce costs. The Department also makes use of volunteer groups and individuals. If you have skills or would just like to pitch-in, please contact us.

RECENTLY COMPLETED PROJECTS

  1. The Department Completed replacement of electrical distribution system for 82 electric Campsites in 2006
  2. The Department Added 6 new Electrical Campsites in 2006
  3. The Department completed renovations to Beach House Food Service Area
  4. The Department completed landscaping of Beach East Entrance Gate Area
  5. The Department completed energy efficiency lighting renovations at Beach and Campground Shower Facilities
  6. The Department reconstructed and surfaced approximately  200 yards of Main Recreation Area Dr. with  the assistance of the County Highway Dept.

 

2007 Projects to Be Completed

  1. The Department will Construct Replacement ADA compliant Vault Restrooms in the COMLARA County Park Family Campground –area 1
  2. The Department will Construct Replacement ADA compliant Vault Restrooms in the COMLARA County Park Family Campground –area 2
  3. The Department will add 6 new campsites in 2007.
  4. The Department will erect ½ mile of perimeter boundary fence at COMLARA Park
  5. The Department will  replace a playground in the Main Recreation Area
  6. The Department will Construct Replacement ADA compliant Vault Restrooms in the COMLARA County Park  Shady Hollow and Fisherman’s Trail  locations
  7. The Department we reconstructed and surfaced approximately 200 yards of Road way at White Oak Area Launch to improve safety with the assistance of the County Highway Dept.
  8. The Department will work with City of Bloomington on a shoreline erosion control project of approximately 300 yards at Evergreen Lake.
  9. The Department will develop plans to extend Constitution Trail  to rural subdivisions west of Bloomington/Normal.
