There are volunteer opportunities in juvenile early intervention probation and juvenile detention,as well as the adult driving under the influence (DUI) and adult domestic violence units.. The opportunities to work with juveniles include tutoring youth either after school or at the detention center, and assisting in various life skills programs. All volunteers must complete a volunteer application and criminal record check.. To obtain more information concerning volunteer opportunities in juvenile early intervention contact Janda Schleder at (309) 888-5432 and Jason Tabb at (309) 888-5550 to volunteer at the juvenile detention center. Volunteers are also utilized in the DUI unit and the domestic violence unit. The department conducts victim impact panels in each of these units, which consist of survivors of either a DUI offense or domestic violence offense. The panel members speak to offenders regarding how the DUI or domestic violence has affected their lives. To obtain more information concerning volunteering
