| The McLean County Health Department is your partner in HIV/AIDS prevention.
Through counseling, testing, community education, outreach, surveillance
and prevention case management, the department works to prevent and control
the spread of HIV/AIDS in McLean County.
Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Antibody Counseling and Testing
Program
- Offers anonymous and confidential counseling and testing
for the presence of HIV antibodies, which can cause AIDS (Acquired
Immune Deficiency Syndrome).
- Court ordered, immigration and travel testing is not
provided. Copies of test results are also NOT provided.
- Appointments are available. However, walk-ins are accepted
on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00
p.m.
- No fee is charged, but donations are accepted.

Prevention Case Management
- Offers intensive one-on-one prevention counseling and support
to people who want to reduce their risk for HIV
- Assists in accessing medical, psychological and social services
needed to improve health and reduce risk for HIV
- Clients do not have to be HIV positive to meet with the prevention
case manager
- Professional services are free and completely private
Popular Opinion Leader Program
- Staff recruits and trains key individuals to become popular opinion
leaders (POLs) in the community
- Through casual conversation, POLs provide prevention and risk
reduction information at various venues throughout McLean County
- POLs also make referrals to the McLean County Health Department
Living Positive Support Group
- Provides a private, safe location for meeting others who are living
with HIV/AIDS
