The Family Case Management Program provides case management services
for pregnant women, infants and children up to age 2. The program assists
families in maintaining mental and physical wellness. Prenatal care
services are available for pregnant clients eligible for WIC or Medicaid.
Assistance with the Illinois Child Health Insurance Program, KidCare,
is also offered.
The Childhood Lead Prevention Program provides early detection of
potential lead poisoning through blood lead tests, education and
follow-up for
eligible clients. Environmental Health investigations are conducted
by the Illinois Department of Public Health Champaign Regional Office.
Public Health Nurse Home Visits and Screenings provide health status
monitoring, patient and family-centered education and follow-up
services. Home visits are available to clients with health needs
related to
communicable disease and chronic disease.
The Women, Infants and Children Supplemental
Food Program (WIC) provides nutrition education, promotes regular health care and
provides a
nutritious supplemental food package to eligible pregnant and
nursing women, infants
and children under age 5. Appointments are required for certification
and nutrition education services.

All Our Kids: Early Childhood Network is a collaborative effort
between the Illinois Department of Human Services, McLean County
Health Department,
area families, and local agencies. The program works in the
community to assure that all children under age 3 and their families
have
access to services for total wellness.
The Child Care Nurse Consultant Program assists daycare providers
with child health issues. The program is the result of a partnership
between the McLean County Health Department and Child Care Resource
and Referral Network.
School Health Program provides a school health consultant to serve
as a resource person, health educator and coordinator of Health Department
school health services such as health presentations and vision and
hearing screenings. The school health consultant regularly visits
rural and parochial schools.
The HealthWorks Program is a collaborative effort (IDCFS, IDPA, IDPH)
developed to facilitate access to essential health services for
children in the care of the Illinois Department of Children and
Family Services.
Teen Parent Services assist young parents, age 19 or younger, with
obtaining necessary mental or health services and planning for
healthy, self-supporting futures.
Primary Care Services for Children provides preventive health
services, including immunizations and developmental screenings,
to children
ages 0-5 years. Services are available to children in families
meeting income
criteria.
