McLean County Registrar for Vital Records
Birth and Death Certificates

The McLean County Health Department director is registrar for vital records in McLean County. As part of administering the Vital Records Act, the registrar maintains birth and death records for 10 years. After that time, records are maintained by the County Clerk.

Certified copies of birth and death certificates can be obtained in person at the McLean County Health Department, Room 304. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Fees must be paid with a check or money order only. They are as follows:

*Birth Certificates:   Death Certificates:
$15 first copy
$6 each additional copy
$15 first copy   
$6 each additional copy

*In addition to the check or money order payment, individuals requesting a birth certificate must also provide a copy of a signed photo ID.
