Nursing Services
Nursing Department
McLean County Nursing Home has nurses on duty 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Our nurses have to meet standards set by the State of Illinois Board of Registered Nurses for licensure. The charge nurses supervise a staff of certified assistants (CNA's) who help residents with bathing, dressing, and meals. In addition, the CNA's take vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature), and report these to the charge nurses. Authorized family members may also call the charge nurse at any time for a status report on a resident's overall condition. We are here to assist with the family's concerns as well as the residents.

MDS/Care Plans
MDS (Minimal Data Set) is a key tool in the process of assessing the functional capabilities of residents in a certified nursing facility. From this assessment, we are able to implement a care plan of resident's needs, wants, and/or concerns.

A Careplan Conference is when we meet with the resident and his or her family to go over the facility’s plan of care.  The Careplan is a comprehensive guide of each resident’s required care, including personal preferences and how they can best be met.  Together we discuss this plan and whether any changes are needed to meet all of the resident’s needs. A care plan letter will be sent out with the date for you to attend. If unable to attend you can call to reschedule with our Care Plan Coordinator or they can mail you a summary.

Restorative Program
At McLean County Nursing Home we seek to maximize the quality of life for our long-term care population, who require a specialized restorative program. Of course, this service is included in the room and board fee. The therapy team and nursing staff develop individualized treatment plans for resident care in the areas of:

-Range of motion
-Activities of daily living
