Camping Reservations Begin 4/2/05
CAMPING RESERVATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED IN-PERSON BEGINNING SATURDAY APRIL 2, 2005 & BY PHONE/MAIL THE FOLLOWING MONDAY, April 4, 2005. ALL PRESENT @ COMLARA PARK VISITOR CENTER AT 12:01 AM ON APRIL 2nd may PARTICIPATE IN A LOTTERY FOR SEQUENTIAL PROCESSING TICKETS. Ticket holders may make group(up to 6 sites) reservations per date, but only one person/per group and one person/per household may participate in the "one minute after midnight" lottery. After the lottery, sequential tickets will be passed out until 8:00 am opening/processing time.

Evergreen Lake Watercraft Decals on Sale now
1/4/2005
2005 Evergreen Lake Watercraft Registration decals are now available at the COMLARA County Park Visitor Center. You may purchase in person, complete a self-registration at MRA or White Oak Boat launches, or send in a written request along with your state watercraft registration # and the appropriate fee. We will mail out decals for self-registrations and mail-ins

Recent Otter Sightings
There have been several reports of otters at Evergreen Lake durring the past week. Keep your eyes on the the frozen lake, as they are apparently enjoying doing belly slides on the ice.
Remember to take your camera along when doing wildlife viewing at County Parks and forwarding a copy of any interesting photograph you get is always appreciated.

It is the mission of the McLean County Department
of Parks and Recreation to insure adequate provision for and
high quality of regional parks and related outdoor recreational
activities for all citizens of McLean County in the most cost
efficient manner possible.
The 2250 acres of regional parks currently provided
by the McLean County Department of Parks and Recreation include
COMLARA County Park and West County Park. COMLARA County Park
includes the following locations - Main Recreation Area, Lake
view Area, White Oak Area, Deer Island Area, Six Mile Creek
Area, Southeast Conservation Area, Southwest Conservation Area,
and Mallards Bay Conservation Area.
Future McLean County regional recreation facilities
being planned include the Historic Route 66 Regional Trail and
Greenway. The 32 mile Historic Route 66 Trail would link many
rural communities and regional natural resources such as the
Parklands Foundation Lexington Preserve along the Mackinaw River
and the Illinois Dept. of Natural Resources Funks Grove Nature
Preserve to the metropolitan area of Bloomington/ Normal, IL
. This Trail would also provide interpretive opportunities along
the Historic Route 66 corridor for central Illinois' Visitors.
