2024 Important Election Dates

• Dec. 20, 2023 - (GP) First day election authority can process vote by mail applications.

• Feb. 8 - (GP) First day election authority can mail vote by mail ballots and the first day of early voting. (10 ILCS 5/19A-15)
• Feb. 20 - (GP) Last day a voter can register with the election authority before Grace Period Registration begins. Voters can still register with the Illinois State Board of Elections electonically. (10 ILCS 5/4-6, /1A-16.5)
• Feb. 21 - (GP) First day of Grace Period Registration. (10 ILCS 5/4-50)
• Mar. 3 - (GP) Last day voters can register to vote online with the Illinois State Board of Elections. (10 ILCS 5/1A-16.5)
• Mar. 11 - (GP) Last day that military of US citizens abroad can apply to vote by mail.

• Mar. 14 - (GP) Last day for the election authority to receive applications to vote by mail.

• Mar. 18 - (GP) Last day of early voting. (10 ILCS 5/19A-15)
