The McLean County Triage Center is an alternative dedicated to helping those experiencing a behavioral health crisis, become connected to the ongoing services and resources they need, while having the care they deserve. The McLean County Triage Center is a comfortable, safe place that offers an alternative to hospital emergency rooms for adults experiencing a behavioral health crisis. The goal of the program is to provide a calm environment in which people can resolve crises without more intensive intervention. All insurances will be accepted and no one will be turned away due to lack of insurance. Trained peer counselors with personal experience in managing the challenges of mental illness or past substance use will provide crisis intervention, support, and mentoring with assistance from program staff.
Following assessment, interventions, and linkage to community resources, individuals will have the opportunity to spend time in the Center’s "Living Room." Here they may further find a sense of calm, read magazines, do a puzzle, color, or enjoy a cup of coffee while seeking support from the trained peer counselor.
