Customer Service Operations

To protect and promote the health of our employees and the public and to comply with the recommendations of Federal, State and Local Officials, effective March 23, 2020, certain McLean County buildings will be closed to the public. 

We will continue to provide essential services to the community through the use of the “McLean County Customer Service Station” located on East Street between Washington and Front Streets.  Hours of service for the McLean County Customer Service Station will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm.

This is a walk-up service station, with parking available nearby. We strongly recommend citizens to use the numbers provided below, and call ahead or complete as many services as possible online.  Please refer to the list below for guidelines.

We understand that this is an unprecedented action, but we feel this is the best way to practice social distancing in order to keep the public and our employees safe during these difficult times.  We will continue to reassess this evolving situation daily.

The McLean County Clerk and Recorder’s Office will continue to provide essential services through phone calls, electronic means or through use of the McLean County Customer Service Station.  Please call in advance for necessary services.  Individuals should utilize the website whenever possible,

As recommended and authorized by Governor’s Executive Order 2020-07, McLean County will postpone consideration of public business where possible.  When a meeting is necessary, McLean County will provide access to both County Board Members and members of the public via video, audio, and/or telephonic access.  All individuals are encouraged to attend remotely where possible.  All information concerning meetings will be posted to the county website at and will be provided to all local news media.


Circuit Clerk – (309) 888-5301

In regard to Illinois Supreme Court Order and the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court Administrative Order, 2020 - 06 (effective March 16, 2020 - April 10, 2020) in response to the COVID-19 Emergency, the McLean County Circuit Clerk’s Office will remain open to handle all statutory duties required of the clerk. Any business that can be conducted without appearing in the courthouse should be handled by mail, email, phone or online at, if possible. Fines and fees should be paid online or by mail. Record searches and requests for copies should be made in writing by mail or e-mail, providing return address/contact information. The Public Defender’s Office will be coordinating services to coincide with Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court Administrative Order 2020-06.  Please call to speak to Public Defender staff as listed above.

State’s Attorney – (309) 888-5400
Since March 16, 2020, the McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office has been coordinating services to coincide with Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court Administrative Order 2020-06. The Office remains available to assist with all essential services. All individuals are encouraged to review Administrative Order 2020-06 or contact the State’s Attorney’s Office by telephone in an effort to promote social distancing and reduce as much traffic to the Law & Justice Center as possible.

The Law & Justice Center will remain open to hear emergency cases and specified cases as outlined in Chief Judge Mark Fellheimer’s Administrative Order and Supplement Order entered 3/18/2020.  All other matters are continued and notice of the new date will be mailed.  Call to schedule an emergency hearing. Persons should see the information on the Circuit Clerk’s website for rescheduling information for their specific case.

Court Services-Probation – (309) 888-5360
McLean County Probation will fulfill all statutorily required duties, but has implemented procedures to significantly limit the number of in-person contacts between Probation personnel, probationers and others involved in the Court System.  It is requested that anyone in need of assistance from Probation contact the Department by phone, unless a specific directive is given by a Judge or probation officer to report to the office in person.

The McLean County Coroner’s Office is closed to the public. If you need to enter the office, please call ahead for direction.


Veterans Assistance Commission Office (309) 888-5140
The Office will be closed to the public. However, we will be open normal hours 8:30 to 4:30 Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Appointments for financial assistance, van rides to the Peoria VA, general information and copies of military discharges on file will be handled over the phone. The phone number is 309-888-5140. Instructions on how appointments and other activities will be handled will be provided when the Veteran calls the office.

Mental Health – Triage and FUSE
The McLean County Triage Center remains open to the public, though precautions are being taken in compliance with CDC and IDPH recommendations for 10 or fewer individuals in one space. Individuals may be referred elsewhere if the Center is at capacity.

The McLean County FUSE Program continues to serve existing participants remotely and within the community, though the office is closed at this time; no new outreach is being done at this time.

WIC services will be provided via curbside, please call (309) 888-5457 or (309) 888-5391 prior to coming to clinic for instructions regarding coupon pick up. 

Dental services are limited to pain control services only, call (309) 888-5479 for an appointment.

Immunization appointments are limited to children through the age of 1 year, call (309) 888-5455 to schedule the appointment and you will be given detailed instructions.

Birth and death certificates will be mailed, effective March 20, 2020. If there is an immediate need for a death certificate, please call 309-888-5451 and set up an appointment.

Children’s Advocacy Center/CASA  (309) 888-5854

The Highway Department is closed to the public, but will be available for call outs by reporting any emergency needs to Ben Kahle, 309-530-1938. Please call to see if service can be provided over the phone or if scheduling is necessary.
