To protect and promote the health of our employees and the public and to comply with the recommendations of Federal, State and Local Officials, effective March 23, 2020, certain McLean County buildings will be closed to the public.
We will continue to provide essential services to the community through the use of the “McLean County Customer Service Station” located on East Street between Washington and Front Streets. Hours of service for the McLean County Customer Service Station will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm.
This is a walk-up service station, with parking available nearby. We strongly recommend citizens to use the numbers provided below, and call ahead or complete as many services as possible online. Please refer to the list below for guidelines.
We understand that this is an unprecedented action, but we feel this is the best way to practice social distancing in order to keep the public and our employees safe during these difficult times. We will continue to reassess this evolving situation daily.
MCLEAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT CENTER – CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC

Citizens are encouraged to contact the office to see if needs can be addressed over the phone. Questions can also be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Exemption forms can be submitted by mail or at the McLean County Customer Service Station.

All tax information is available on the Treasurer’s website. For any questions, please contact the office at the above-referenced number. Inquiries may also be faxed to 309-888-5176 or emailed to email@example.com. The McLean County Customer Service Station will be utilized when necessary.

The McLean County Clerk and Recorder’s Office will continue to provide essential services through phone calls, electronic means, or through use of the McLean County Customer Service Station. Please call in advance for necessary services. Individuals should utilize the website whenever possible, www.mcleancountyil.gov/countyclerk.

As recommended and authorized by Governor’s Executive Order 2020-07, McLean County will postpone consideration of public business where possible. When a meeting is necessary, McLean County will provide access to both County Board Members and members of the public via video, audio, and/or telephonic access. All individuals are encouraged to attend remotely where possible. All information concerning meetings will be posted to the county website at www.mcleancountyil.gov and will be provided to all local news media.
LAW AND JUSTICE CENTER – LIMITED SERVICES TO THE PUBLIC

The Public Defender’s Office will be coordinating services to coincide with Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court Administrative Order 2020-06. Please call to speak to Public Defender staff as listed above.
State’s Attorney – (309) 888-5400
Since March 16, 2020, the McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office has been coordinating services to coincide with Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court Administrative Order 2020-06. The Office remains available to assist with all essential services. All individuals are encouraged to review Administrative Order 2020-06 or contact the State’s Attorney’s Office by telephone in an effort to promote social distancing and reduce as much traffic to the Law & Justice Center as possible.

The McLean County Circuit Court is conducting hearings on all cases pursuant to the IL Supreme Court order of May 26, 2020. Some cases are being scheduled for video or virtual hearings. Persons should review the information on the McLean County Circuit Clerk’s website for scheduling information for their specific case.

McLean County Adult and Juvenile Probation departments have resumed more in-person client contact while following CDC guidelines regarding the use of face coverings and social distancing. To limit the number of people in the office we are still asking for clients to report alone for your appointments when possible. Officers have begun scheduling appointments with clients so feel free to call the office with questions and/or concerns.

The McLean County Coroner’s Office is closed to the public. If you need to enter the office, please call ahead for direction.
200 WEST FRONT STREET – LIMITED SERVICES TO THE PUBLIC
Veterans Assistance Commission Office – (309) 888-5140
The Office is now open to the public. We will be open normal hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday. While the office will permit entry by the Public, social distancing and the use of masks or face coverings will still apply. VAC Van rides to the Peoria Clinic will be limited to Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. Face masks will be required. In order to observe social distancing, rides will be limited to two Veterans plus the driver with distancing handled by restrictions by row of seats in the Van.
Requests for appointments for financial assistance, van rides to the Peoria VA, general information and copies of military discharges can be made in person at the VAC Office or can be handled over the phone. The phone number is 309-888-5140. Specific instructions on how appointments and other activities will be handled will be provided when the Veteran calls the office.
Mental Health – Triage and FUSE
The McLean County Triage Center remains open to the public from 24-hours per day from Thursdays at 6:00 a.m. to Tuesdays at 6:00 a.m., though precautions continue to be for 10 or fewer individuals in one space. Individuals may be referred elsewhere if the Center is at capacity. Individuals are asked to wear a mask and only present to the Triage Center if they are fever and symptom-free.
The McLean County FUSE Program continues to serve existing participants remotely and within the community, with limited in-office visits by appointment only. The office is closed to the general public at this time, but can be reached via phone at 309-888-5700 for an appointment. No new outreach is being done at this time.

WIC services will be provided via curbside, please call (309) 888-5457 or (309) 888-5391 prior to coming to clinic for instructions regarding coupon pick up.
Dental services are limited to pain control services only, call (309) 888-5479 for an appointment.
Immunization appointments are limited to children through the age of 1 year, call (309) 888-5455 to schedule the appointment and you will be given detailed instructions.
Birth and death certificates will be mailed, effective March 20, 2020. If there is an immediate need for a death certificate, please call 309-888-5451 and set up an appointment.

Children’s Advocacy Center/CASA – (309) 888-5854
The Children’s Advocacy Center will continue to provide essential services, please call (309) 888-5854 and leave a detailed message.

The Highway Department is closed to the public, but will be available for call outs by reporting any emergency needs to Ben Kahle, 309-530-1938. Please call to see if service can be provided over the phone or if scheduling is necessary.

Animal Control Office is closed to the public. Please call to schedule an appointment to retrieve your animal, adoptions/transfers or for emergency services, as needed.
