Employment Requirements

To obtain employment with any Court Services department in Illinois, applicants shall:

  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • Be a resident of the State of Illinois within 90 days of the date of his/her appointment
  • Have obtained a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably with major course work in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, social work, or related social sciences

Applications for Certification

The Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts (AOIC) must certify applicants. Access an application for certification online (PDF) or you can obtain one from the Administrative Office at:

Internship Opportunities

All divisions of Court Services accept interns from accredited four-year colleges and universities. All intern candidates are subject to a criminal background check. Contact Amy Reeser at (309) 888-5370 if interested in an internship opportunity.
