Thank you for visiting the McLean County Recorder’s Office website. The Recorder’s Office is responsible for recording, archiving and retrieving any document submitted to be recorded.
We welcome the public to drop by at any time to review our documents, which date back to 1831, the founding of McLean County, and to ask any of our friendly staff members for help.
In addition to deeds and mortgages, the office records plats of subdivisions, ordinances and annexations, liens and releases, articles of incorporation, military service discharge papers and other various document types that have been submitted to become public record.
The tabs on either side of this main page provide access to our records and other important information. You may have confidence that business with the Recorder’s Office will be conducted professionally and efficiently. We encourage you to view our customer satisfaction surveys from 2014 and 2017.

The Duties of the Recorder’s Office are now handled by the County Clerk
A referendum to place the duties of the Recorder’s Office into the County Clerk’s Office was passed by the voters of McLean County on November 6, 2012 and took effect December 31, 2013. Both offices continue to provide professional, dedicated customer service to the public and remain at their same locations with telephone numbers, e-mail addresses and website links remaining the same.
