File Candidate Petitions (Independent and New Party) - June 18, 2018 thru June 25, 2018

Last day for established and new political parties to fill vacancies in nomination in county offices (occurring on or after the primary and prior to certification) -- does not apply to vacancies which occur due to a failure to nominate at the primary. August 29, 2018

Last day a person may file a notarized Declaration of Intent to be a write-in candidate is September 6, 2018
(Write-ins shall be counted only for persons who have filed a Declaration of Intent. 10 ILCS 5/7-61, 10-11).

In Municipalities under 5,000 population, established political parties hold their caucuses on December 3, 2018, and file their certificates of nomination with the municipal clerk during the filing period, December 10-17, 2018.
(NOTE:  Municipalities of 5,000 or less may determine by orndinance (no later than November 15, 2018) that established political parties shall nominate candidates for municipal offices by primary election.)
